Only thing that could be better is if this held till the end of the season with the Magic in the top three and the Lakers in the bottom three. I just loved printing this out as it won't last, but I love seeing the Magic undefeated with 2 wins and the Lakers with only 1 win in 4 games - I wish the Lakers were 0-4. I still wish the worst for Howard - I hope every thing goes horribly wrong for him and the Lakers - I hope his back makes him mediocre and I hope his free throw shooting plummets to the worst of his career by far and I wish him high turnovers - even more than in Orlando so that the fans turn on him - he deserves it. A little animosity toward Howard? I guess you could say that (I almost didn't even mention Brian Hill) - I'm over Brian as long as he never comes back to Orlando.

Even though this degree of success will be short lived - it is nice to see the GM moving this team in the right direction - I like the talented athletic new guys. So far Vaughn looks good as well.

I'm not counting us out against the Bulls next game no way.

I actually don't think we're even going to be in tank mode this season. Vaughn doesn't seem like a guy that wants to lose games.

Yahoo new power rankings have our little team moving up from 28th to 17th. This is fun to see but maybe a little over enthusiastic. I like this TEAM.

I try not to put too much stock in power rankings, but this one ticks me off a little. The whole point of them is "what have you done lately?" Well, the Magic have won both their games in pretty convincing fashion. No way should they be ranked beneath the 1-3 Lakers. Once LA goes on a 20 game win streak and we go on a 20 game losing streak, then things will even out. But there are, I think, 3 teams above us that are sub 500 whereas we're 2-0. That kind of crap really irks me.

You don't rank the Lakers that low because they start off slow. That is not how a power ranking works, or the whole thing would just be based on w/l record and be rendered pointless.

In my opinion, power rankings are determined by the factors of what type of players the roster is composed of. The target market and brand name weighs heavily on the ranking, e.g., Los Angeles Lakers containing a greater target market than the Orlando Magic. The team's previous reputation from the previous year factors into the ranking which overall makes the power rankings flawed and irrelevant. To sum it up, power rankings don't mean anything whatsoever.

I sincerely hope we receive no high quality media attention on television. I know they'll get media attention on the local scale but hopefully not much nationally. Stay focused and don't get big headed. This is a team.
